Event Details
Guests of the Sunset Dinner Experience are treated to a multi-course meal and beverage pairings all while enjoying conversation with friends new and old in a purposeful conversation dining experience. Smedley Events utilizes a purposeful conversation model to create opportunities for dialogue that connect guests and allow them to discover their commonalities. After dinner and conversation the evening is capped off with local entertainment as guests enjoy a picturesque view of a Colorado sunset cascading over Mount Evans.
In the third season of the Sunset Dinner Experience, Smedley Events will host a public event on Saturday, May 28th featuring the topic of Heritage.
How has your heritage influenced your life? At this dinner guests will be invited to share stories and experiences around the topic of Heritage. Who is someone that has had a big influence on your life? If you could hold on to one memory from your life, which would it be? We invite guests to share as they feel comfortable and listen with the intention to learn something new.
This Sunset Dinner will feature Chef Aaron Gonerway from Plates by the Pounds BBQ. Aaron’s roots are from Texas, but his home and heart are in Colorado! Growing up in Denver, Aaron got to experience many different cultures and flavors. Before embarking on his culinary journey Aaron worked for Charles Schwab for 10 years and other investments firms. During COVID, Aaron got the push from his wife to start selling his barbecue on the weekends. This led Aaron to leaving his job as a operations supervisor at Arapahoe County Fairgrounds to go all in on Plates by the Pound BBQ. Four months later, in September of 2021, Aaron opened his store-front and hasn't looked back. Since opening he has been featured in Westword, 303 Magazine, 5280 Magazine, Ones to Watch in the Denver Post and recently did a interview with StarChefs' Rising Stars magazine out of New York.

Entree - Smoked Yard Bird Glazed with Red Wine Barbecue Sauce with Seasonal Vegetables
Dessert - Bread Pudding topped with Smoked Peach Glaze
