Big DopesBig Dopes' loose, lighthearted feel evokes 90s alternative and indie. Lead songwriter Eddie Schmid uses a playful, conversational vocal style to sing through neuroses about long-distance relationships, being a houseguest, and wasting money on shitty headphones. Ricky Brewer (drums) and Justin Catanzaro (bass) lend vibrant, dynamic rhythms, and Paul Simmons adds colorful violin, guitar, and synth
Blankslate was founded in 2018 by college roommates Emma (vocals), Tess (drums/keys) and Rylee (guitar/bass) after the trio transferred to the University of Denver from different schools. Reeling from bad spells in California, New York, and Massachusetts, each member of the band came to Denver in search of a change of pace; a fresh start. In the beginning, they practiced in a storage closet in the basement of their dorm and played small coffee shop and open mic gigs around DU before graduating to Denver's club scene. The driving principle behind Blankslate is transformation; a belief in the possibility to become.
