Thinking about changing careers or beginning a career in software development? Come try your hand at coding with this two day workshop with the Turing School.
Event Details
This is a fast-paced, entry level course. You should be comfortable with navigating the basic operations of a computer; such as copying and pasting text, navigating the internet through a browser and typing.
Schedule:
Saturday, February 1: 10:00am - 4:30pm
Sunday, February 2: 10:00am - 3:30pm
Each day during lunch, there will be a Turing School Informational Q&A session with alumni, current students, and staff. Bring your questions!

Back-End Engineering
On this day, we'll cover how to navigate around your computer using the terminal, read and write files, and write your own command line applications. We'll cover how the internet works, variables, if statements, and looping using the Ruby programming language.
Front-End Engineering
On the second day, you'll learn the basics of front-end engineering. We'll cover HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. You'll learn how to create, style, and add interactivity to web pages.
Nuts & Bolts
Doors will open at 9:40 and we'll have coffee on-hand
We'll talk and work until about 12 when we break for a catered lunch
After lunch we'll talk and work until 3:15*
At 3:30 pm we'll be done and available for 1-on-1 questions
At 4:00 doors close

If you attend the workshop and decide to apply to Turing School, you'll receive $500 off the cost of your tuition if you're accepted.
