Outbound Mountain Gear started as a hiking blog called "The Outhouse". This blog was dedicated to the pursuit of the 67 New England 4,000 Footers. In the blog we wrote trip reports, gear reviews, posted epic photos and videos but mainly shared about the shenanigans that ensued. To this day you will still see a black and white stick figure outhouse picture on cars in the White Mountains (at least on one car!). As time went on, the competition of the 67 took over and the blog fell by the wayside. After all, it is hard to write about yourself all the time. However, one thing that stuck with me were the reviews. I found myself buying and selling gear every season; despite all of the features they offered, nothing ever worked the way I wanted it to. I needed to kill the quiver and create one piece for all things. There were issues with this too: I had no idea how to do that! I created spreadsheets for every feature I wanted in a jacket and bib but I didn't even know how to sew. I knew what I wanted but didn't have the skills to get it! Here I was, 30 years old, and I asked my mom "How do I sew well enough to make the perfect piece of gear?" Her answer, "Lots of sewing in the princess room" From here "The Outhouse" got Mountain Gear added to it. At least the brand had a fun name, "OMG". I spent the entire fall sewing, and finally OMG was ready to send out prototypes of the OMG Face mask. Reviews were great, final alterations were made and after a year of hard work the perf
