Event Details
Exploring the National Center for Atmospheric Research's (NCAR) Mesa Laboratory and Visitor Center is a fun and educational way to spend some time in the Denver metro area. Meet our tour guides at the iconic NCAR Mesa Laboratory, designed by I.M. Pei, to learn about atmospheric science, climate science, and other current research being conducted at NCAR.
NCAR Mesa Laboratory Public Tour image
Currently, the UCAR Center for Science Education (SciEd) is hosting public tours at noon (12:00 pm) Mountain Time on Wednesdays through the end of November 2022. These group tours have a maximum total attendance of 30 people. Reservations must be made in advance, by reserving you or your group's spot through Eventbrite. At this time, the NCAR Mesa Lab Visitor Center remains closed to public visitors outside of these tours.
The NCAR Mesa Lab will reopen to the public on Monday, 28 November 2022 and public tours will begin on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday starting on Friday, 01 December 2022. At that point, public tours will be available for walk-ins and will not require a reservation. However, if you would like to let us know you're coming, you can RVSP your ticket!
This tour is best for groups of adults, families with kids in grade 5 or up, or homeschool groups. This public tour is NOT designated for school field trips or private tours. If you are interested in a school field trip or private tour, please contact us at spp@ucar.edu.

In an effort to best protect our staff and visitors, all visitors to the NCAR Mesa Laboratory must follow the guidance below:
On the day of the visit, any person who feels or appears ill, or appears to have COVID-19 symptoms, may not enter the facility for the visit. We expect all visitors to do a self-analysis before coming onsite.
Masks will be optional for all visitors and staff.
The UCAR Visitor Guidance Form (previously stated) and the vaccination requirement, will no longer be required as of Monday, 17 October 2022.
