Event Details

Gobs O’Phun combines their homespun, living room ambiance with that of a romanticized Irish pub experience. Celebrating their 29th year, this will be the first time they’ve held their annual Swallow Hill St. Patrick’s Day concert on the actual day of March 17th. And after playing in Quinlan Cafe for the first time last year, they realized this casual concert setting was more akin to the atmosphere of an actual pub, where they feel most at home and where the “phun” really begins.

Brothers-in-law Denis Sullivan and Martin Lambuth offer the best and most beloved of traditional Celtic folksongs through their seasoned harmonies, backed by guitar, bodhran, harmonica, and signature folksy banter. Always faithful to the essence of these great tunes, they offer historical background and an abiding love for what they do in an infectious, energetic and humorous style. The Gobs formula has proven appeal, forged by countless appearances in concert, festival, pub and media appearances.

They sing songs that tell stories. And because of the universal themes of the songs – be it humor, honor, pride, love, relationships, triumph, freedom or sentimental in nature – their music will charm audiences of all ages and all cultural backgrounds and send everyone off with a feeling of good cheer.

In addition, the Gobs will be joined by the delightfully saucy and sassy violinist, “Dame Peggy” Fasing. Peggy’s skills are symphony-level (Lord knows why she lowers herself to this level). She’s like one of the family, having joined Gobs O’Phun over the years on several private and public occasions, as well as recording sessions. Her skills always bring the Gobs musicality to a new level.

So, join this trio and their legion of fans as they chuckle, laugh, clap, stomp their feet, sing along and leave having fully experienced an evening that is truly 'gobs of fun’!
